PART 2: “Watch where you’re crawling.”

PART 2

Bass faded.

Darkness lingered.

Then—

a single inhale.

The screen came back.

Tight close-up—

his eyes.

Red.

Not from anger.

From memory.

The bracelet trembled in his hand.

His voice finally came.

Low.

Almost unfamiliar.

“…Sophia.”

The woman covered her mouth.

Tears instantly filled her eyes.

“It really is you…”

“I thought…”

“…they said you were dead.”

Silence.

The crowd exchanged confused glances.

The rich girl frowned.

“Wait.”

“You two know each other?”

No one answered.

Daniel kept staring at Sophia.

Like every year between them had vanished.

Flash.

Two children laughing.

Running through rain.

A silver bracelet.

Tiny hands making a promise.

“You keep one.”

“I keep the other.”

“So we’ll always find each other.”

Flash gone.

Back to the street.

Daniel closed his fist around the bracelet.

“You never took it off.”

Sophia smiled through tears.

“I promised.”

His jaw tightened.

“So did I.”

He reached beneath the sleeve of his leather jacket.

Pulled back the cuff.

Another bracelet.

Older.

Scratched.

Still there.

Gasps.

The crowd realized—

this wasn’t chance.

This was history.

The rich girl laughed nervously.

“Oh please.”

“What is this?”

“A reunion?”

She folded her arms.

“She still bumped into me.”

“She still owes me an apology.”

Daniel slowly stood.

Not rushed.

Not dramatic.

Just…

certain.

For the first time—

he looked directly at her.

The smile disappeared from her face.

“Did you push her?”

Four words.

Quiet.

Cold.

She rolled her eyes.

“She fell.”

Several people lowered their heads.

No one spoke.

Daniel scanned the crowd.

“Who saw it?”

Nothing.

Silence.

Fear.

Then—

a small voice.

“She pushed her.”

Everyone turned.

A teenage delivery rider.

Still wearing his helmet.

“I saw everything.”

“She laughed after she fell.”

Another voice joined.

“I recorded it.”

A young woman slowly raised her phone.

“I have the whole thing.”

The rich girl’s expression cracked.

“You better delete that.”

The young woman didn’t move.

“No.”

More phones appeared.

Different angles.

Different recordings.

The crowd had been watching all along.

They just hadn’t spoken.

Until now.

The rich girl took a nervous step backward.

“You don’t know who my father is.”

Daniel answered without emotion.

“I don’t care.”

Another step.

Another.

Then—

three black motorcycles rolled into the street.

Engines stopped together.

One after another.

More riders removed their helmets.

No smiles.

No threats.

Only respect.

They walked straight toward Daniel.

Stopped beside him.

One of them nodded.

“Boss.”

The word echoed.

Boss.

The crowd stiffened.

The rich girl’s confidence completely disappeared.

“You’re…”

“…their leader?”

Daniel ignored the question.

He looked at Sophia instead.

“Can you stand?”

She tried.

Pain shot through her leg.

She winced.

Without another word—

Daniel slipped one arm behind her back.

The other beneath her knees.

Lifted her effortlessly.

Like she weighed nothing.

Sophia instinctively held onto his jacket.

The crowd parted again.

Only this time—

not because they feared him.

Because they understood.

Someone whispered,

“He came for her.”

Daniel carried her toward his motorcycle.

The rich girl shouted after them.

“You can’t just leave!”

“My lawyer will—”

A police siren cut through the street.

Growing louder.

Closer.

Stopping beside the crowd.

The young woman holding the phone stepped forward.

“I’d like to report an assault.”

Another witness raised a hand.

“So would I.”

Then another.

“And me.”

The rich girl looked around desperately.

For the first time in her life—

money couldn’t buy silence.

Daniel gently placed Sophia onto the back seat.

Handed her the bracelet.

“It belongs with you.”

She looked at him.

“No.”

“It belongs with us.”

Daniel stared at the bracelet for one long second.

Then nodded.

The engine roared to life.

The camera pulled back.

The police surrounded the rich girl.

The witnesses stepped forward.

The truth had finally found its voice.

Daniel twisted the throttle.

The motorcycle disappeared into the night.

But one question remained—

Where had he been…

for the last fifteen years?

TO BE CONTINUED…
